Assalaamualaikum

Well every Muslim knows this already: that Allah has no Gender.

And Angel does not mean to create problems here. She is posting what she is "discovering". My opinion. So I am not offended either.

Jazakallahkhair bmz for your linguistic explanation.

wassalaam.

Allah is Sufficient as a Walee (Protector) and Allah is Sufficient as a Naseer (Helper).
(Surah An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #45)

 As-salamu'alaykum,

Allah has no gender. Muhammad(sallau alayhe wassalam) avoided refering to Allah (subhana wa tallah) as "Father".

Bismillah irrahman irrahim

Assalamu alaikum

I dont think there is any need to take offense from the thread or the topic. Angel is talking about 'there is a God ..... maybe', we muslims should be more secure than this. This is the reason we dont call our Lord just God, We call Him Allah, The God. You cannot attribute gender to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, neither can you make it plural. So easy as that.

wassalam

Say: (O Muhammad) If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, MercifuL

Hanan, if your not happy you do not have to participate in this thread.

And I am sorry you don't like the phrase "some people" I don't go carrying around 10,0001 pages of who's who, do you?

I wish to clarify that I did not object to Angel's titling of her post. I agreed with Matt because he was right in saying that Allah was made a He by the men.

If Angel had not written the post, we would not have had the chance to clarify that gender should not be applied to Lord Almighty Allah.

In fact it is a thought-provoking topic.

In fact Qur'aan teaches us to say, "Allah is the One who........." instead of translating as "Allah is He who.............................." or "He, Allah is the One"

When we write, we should try to use Allah and God Almighty or the Lord Almighty more than using the term He or Himself. Qur'aan does the same.

Example: "HowAl-lah-ul aziz-ul-ghaffar" meaning "Allah is mighty and the most forgiving", but we should try to avoid translating and writing "Allah is He who is mighty and forgiving."

The word 'Ho-wa" in Arabic means "He is". Just my two cents.

Can I remind people that this is the interfaith section.

Some people asign gender to God, some don't, some asign both genders, some don't know and some don't believe in God, and some believe in god and some believe God is energy, some believe God is spirit, or whatever they believe.

As this is the interfaith section, this is in the right place.

If people are going to be offended and don't like something what is the point of having interfaith and learning and seeing about others.

Now, let's not get into what is and what isn't, create another thread if you wish, let's not derail anymore
