As Salaam, I was telling my friend about jinns and she said I get chills when you talk about the jinns. she went on to tell me that she see people out of the corner of her eye in her house. She went on to tell me they look smoke like in appearence and once or twice she smelled smoke. Her dog even barks at them. When she related this I felt a burden lifted from my heart and felt peace. OK the jinn issue is settled thank you all for your help.

Morocco was my real introduction to a world where many interact with the
jinn in their day-to-day life. Examples - 1) Pouring hot water down a drain is a way to irritate jinn and you will hear many Moroccans say "Bismillah" before pouring (unless they wait for it to cool) 2) What we might classify as bipolar, autistic or schizoid can sometimes be diagnosed as being meskoon, or "inhabited" (with jinn) 3) Children left alone to cry in the dark, in a wet place (bathroom, etc), near the dead (cemetaries, butcher stalls, etc) are susceptible to attacks by the jinn. It is a belief held by Muslims of every class; i.e; the well-heeled educated as well as the desperately poor and illiterate. In my life and experience, I have never encountered a Moroccan who has given the existence of the Jinn a second thought - Jinns simply are. Well - that's probably enough Jinn talk for me this Friday morning! Have a blessed and prayerful day everyone, Jamal Morelli |

Bi ismillahir rahmanir raheem
Do you have trouble believing in Satan and all the evil he does? Do you believe he has demons who help him in this task? The only difference between Christian and islamic belief regarding satan and his demon helpers is that christians believe they are fallen angels, [which is in contradiction with the fact that Angels have no will of there own to disobey god with], Muslims believe Satan and his demons are Evil jinns [shaytan being the Islamic name for an evil jinn]. You would certainly have believed in satan and his demons, so i ask this what world do they exist in can we see them what powers do they have what can they do cant do......you will find many of your answers are similar to what jinns can do with the minor difference being they are not fallen angels. Ok, i thought about Jinns further and I realize that my problem probably has more to do with holding on to the traditions that I was raised with, which of course as the brother stated in the post above, I need to get out of that realm of thinking and put my faith in the Almighty.

You are correct, you need to defeat those thoughts of yours. God is sufficent for all His creatures' needs, wants, and everything else. He is the Sustainer and Protector of all that exists and is not begotten nor begets. Angels are a totally dfferent creation from jinns, animals, and humans. They were created from light. They have no free will and do not live lives outside of serving Godin whatever He orders. They do not marry, have families, etc. Edited by Knowledge01 |

Andalus asks: It was not a leap for me. Jinn are simply another class of beings. I have a question for you: You believe in an unseen God who was able to Create the Universe and all life, and you believe in unseen beings who interact with man and carry messeges from God and may offer some protection from time to time that you call angles, but unseen beings that interact with man called Jinn are difficult to believe? My problem has more to do with acceptance then with belief. My ego tells me that God made me ( human beings) and we are special. If I admitt, give into, accept Jinns, then I also have to accept that I am not as special to God as I thought. ( this is probably faulty thinking) I have to surrender that Allah is God and can create whatever he wants. I have to be willing...... again I have to surrender to what ever Allah does and my selfish and self-centered thinking bulks at this Angels don't marry do they??
