No one has yet explained to me why it was that when those mindless
Danish cartoonists messed up, the response was an Iranian assault on Jewish sensibilities and now that the Pope has "Shared" his assinine musings it is again called a "Judeo-Christian" Plot?. He's a Old German AND a Pope. For crying out loud. Is this is turning into a three way free for all led by my cynics their cynics and your cynics? Or "trolls" as Whisper calls them? I wish to announce that there is blood in the water folks. So, for heaven sake let' s not all start biting each other. A formal and more convincing apology would be nice from the Pope. I'm still not happy with the unconvincing apology the Vatican gave regarding their behavior during WW2. Bottom line? We are all important and we all need each other and we need to keep our separate religions intact. If a few of us stray to each others camp and convert one way or another it's a bit harrowing to our blood relatives but it's not the end of the world. We need to learn about each other from our different perspectives. We can learn from contrast and comparison. There are things that I use to help me in my every day life that come directly from Islam. I am enlightened by what I learn. I understand why we hurt each other and miscalculate each others reactions across the lines of religion. Evil persons exploit these little buttons of opportunity for their own purposes. Some are just plain nasty for the sake of pushing back at a god they fear does not love them. Edited by Daniel Dworsky |

Bottom line...he did it intentionally. .. in a most cowardly way. He couldn't have chosen a better way to encourage the fascist Christian masses to have a free-for-all against Muslims. |

Its not a free for all against muslims, but 'over reaction' has not done much PR for the faith, which by the way is only a belief system. Edited by fogtrik |

For a supposedly "religious" and "spiritual" person the pope did not quite follow through with these aspects at all.. Intead of seeking peace that Jesus would have done he sets things aflame. |

I just have one thing to say, and its not a defense of the Pope. But the man is the SPIRITUAL HEAD OF AN ENTIRE CHURCH. I don't really see him jumping up and declaring the Prophet Muhammed as the Last Prophet and proclaiming Shahada. Its his job to prove his faith superior. His predecessor was about peace and bringing communities together. Pope Benedict XVI was the Grand Inquisitor before he was Pope. What he said was wrong and insensitive? But how is it really any different than the claims on millions of websites that Christians are Pagans and guilty of the most grievous sin of Shirk. Its an opinion. Smack his fingers and prove him wrong. Don't burn effigies and kill nuns. All that did was to prove his words correct. |

Its his job to prove his faith superior. Oh dear. Is it? I thought it was his job to demonstrate compassion tolerance and love above all things. I think he's just a lousy Pope He wouldn't be the first. Edited by Daniel Dworsky |
