AH yes, but women are meant to repress what they feel (because women are too sensitive, too uneducated, too stupid, too busy, too caring, too demanding, too weak...), whereas men have more freedom to act upon what they want, even if they're not really meant too. Women, apparently, are too weak to be allowed to do anything much, and men are too weak to be allowed in the presence of most women, although they blame their weakness on us instead. Kim... |

My Dear Sis and Bro, Exception are exception and we are not dealing with exception here. There is a large room for dealing with every kind of exceptional situation in Islam. So your example of 14 year boy (not well versed in relegion) vs well knowledgable lady is just an exception. However, what we are disscussing in this forum is in genarality of the principle. Kindly see if can make a distinction between the two. Rest Allah knows the best. Edited by AhmadJoyia |

Bismillah, This so-called-exception happens in masjids. And it doesn't have to be a 14-year-old boy. When I realized that a bar goer and fornicater was leading the Friday prayer and giving the khutbah, I waited until he was finished and then prayed. And he did it frequently because the men refused to investigate our claims against him. Then, of course, I wouldn't attend if I knew that he was the Imam. That is just one case which went on for a couple of years which I know of. I would have appreciated any leader, man or woman, who took charge of the situation and led the prayer instead of him. |

Again this is an exceptional situation and that too in an entirely different context. Here not only female but males were also the victims of their own apathy. I do understand your point of view, but the fact remains that such problems/issues can never be resolved on the basis of our sentiments but through our (both sexes) sound approach through logical argumentation. |

well about the sexy voice thing...an imam shouldn't have a sexy voice, like it doesn't attract women or anything because they are supposed to have a high pitched nice voice to read the quran. some people may think that its sexy but you shouldn't be thinking of it in an unislamic way. you shouldn't be concentratiing on the imams |"sexy" voice, only your prayer and expectations. Also,if the woman as you mentioned with the 14 year old boy, knows better knowledge of the quran it still shoudn't matter who knows more. maybe, the woman can even teach the boy a little so he has more knowledge, but the 14 year old boy should still lead the prayer rather than the woman. i also have a nother point of view in this topic, if you knew a 14 year old boy was going to lead the prayer and i t was such a problem, why attend the prayer? you can pray at home or still pray in the masjid by yourself.thanx for posting a reply for me!

Bi ismillahir rahmanir raheem
assalamu alaikum about the atractivness of the oposite sex, if the person is dressed modestly and another person is atracted to something about them body, face, voice...etc then it is the responsibility of the person who has the atraction to control himself not the other way around. you can not ask an atractive women to stay inside simply becouse men like her it is the responsability of the men to control themselves. the fault only goes to the women if she is dressed imodestly or is doing something for the sake of being noticed. in a hadith, rasul allah (sallah llahu alaihi wa sallam) was talking to a women in a public place, or rather she was seeking his advice on a matter. the hadith describes the women as being "strikingly" atractive she was dressed modestly but not wearing the hijab. A companion was walking passed and noticed her talking to rasul allah, he imediatly atracted to her and stood there "Gawking" (staring) at her for some time. Rasul allah noticed this and stared at the companion in amazment in order to reproach him. This hadith is sahih and was from the last few years of rasul allah life so there is no issue of abrigation. It clearly establishes the law that the responsibility fall on the person who has the atraction not the other way around. also it is important to note that he did not reproach her for not wearing the hijab, something that proves that it is a personel responsability and can not be enforced unless the atire of the person is for the intention of causing fitnah. khair insha allah. |
