Daniel Dworsky It is humbling to see people like you with a open and loving mindset to your Palestinian Buddy's or mates. So many bad things happening around the world today that it is indeed encouraging to see people keep up that human spirit. I admit my own ignorance as the uprising began in 2000 I believe I remember all the media bias. I never quite got hold of the real picture until a documentary called The Issue That is Palestine by Aussie journalist John Pilgert was shown. It became painfully evident the suffering caused by this ongoing 60 years or so war. If anyone can find sources to John Pilgert let me know as I have been unsuccessful.

Refugee camp? You mean when you die you'll be coming to Australia? Hey, I heard a guy by the name of Uri Davis speaking on the radio this morning - he was talking about a group that calls itself the Jewish National Fund. On the surface, they look like naice guys who have been round for abotu 100 years, planting loads of trees in Israel. However, what they ALSO appear to be doing is planting trees and re-foresting areas that used to be Arab villages, so the people that used to live there have nothing they could ever try to go back to. Uri Davis was going to be giving a speech in Sydney yesterday, but apparently not enough people signed up to be in the audience. However, before the speech was cancelled, the Jewish National Fund of Australia sent out a message to say that they would be monitoring what he said and would sue if they considered he said the wrong things about them. Talk about paranoid!!!! (Not to mention un-Australian). they also interviewed a Jewish leader about the threat and he tried to claim that Uri is really accusing them of war crimes and that shouldn't be allowed. Uri Davis is very easy to find on Google. He believes that Israel is an Apartheid state and describes himself as Anti-Zionist. He also believes that the only solution is to set up one, shared state where everyone lives together. http://www.fromoccupiedpalestine.org/node.php?id=1419 http://www.one-democratic-state.org/articles/davis'.html http://student.cs.ucc.ie/cs1064/jabowen/IPSC/php/authors.php ?auid=1 http://lark.phoblacht.net/uridavis.html http://www.yayacanada.com/uridavis.html http://www.canadiandimension.mb.ca/extra/d0927ud.htm

That is so WEIRD. I just met him last week in the middle of a voice lesson
(I was teaching) in Kfar Sava. I had no Idea what kind up mischief he was up to. Our host was very flattering in his introductions so I believe we made a very good if not entirely wordless first impression. :-) How've you been baby girl? |

Good! TOO BUSY!!!! Tonight is the 3rd night I've been home this week! That's about 4 more than normal. I'm so proud... :} Oh well, if you see him again, send him greetings from an Australian he'll probably never meet and send him my compliments - he sounds like a very rational, reasonable sort of bloke. We need more people like him. And you - how have you been faring? Kim...

I'm good.
But these are interesting times. It's about to hit the fan here politically and I'm not sure I'm up to it. I've been getting a lot of hate mail and phone calls from assorted nuts. I'm working on a bunch of music projects which is good. Are you still working at the library? I'll pass your message on to Uri. :-) Be good, Danny |
