In the Qur'an, God talks about jinns in numerous places, so it is required that we believe whatever God says, as with anything else He says.

Although various observations and theoretical models do actually indicate that there are "parallel" worlds, the idea of Jinn are no different from establishing the idea of angels and humans.

Keep in mind that science still discovers new species of animals, and science has stumbled onto species that were thought to have been extinct millions of years ago like the coelacanth.

Things exist that we know exist even when technology did not exist to "verify"their existance. Gravity is supposed to exist as a wave, but no one has ever detected a graviton wave.

Recently, there has been a surge of people taking interest in something called "EVP", electronic voice phenomena. This has been an observed phenomena going back to at least the 1940s. The phenomena is that during a recording session, somehow, an unknown voice is inprinted on the recording such that the extra voice is only heard when the recording is played back.

People have gone into grave yards and while asking each other various questions or making comments, they can hear a response to the comment or questions when it is played back. Some people have identified the voice as someone familiar (when this is done in a family home or dwelling of someone who died). I believe it was in the 1940s during a recording session of Gregorian Monks, one monk heard his father responding to his comments that were part of a recording.

I believe these are Jinn. There is also a claim that something termed "shadow people" exist, who are unidentified dark figures that can be seen in old abandoned homes, sanatoriums, etc. I have seen some film footage and it is obvious that something is there, but seems to phase in and out. One gentleman actually used a small diode laser to hit one of the objecte, and the beam established "something"was there. It was pretty incredible.

Jinn are simply apart of our world and interact with it.

Yes, the belief in Jinn is part of being a Muslim. We take the entire Quran as true.

 Kindest regards

Andalus says:the idea of Jinn are no different from establishing the idea of angels and humans.

I don't agree at least for me, it requires I stretch my mind to embrace something completely alien to me (excuse the pun).

it's funny how my mind works. If you would ask me if I believed in ghosts or the "paranoraml" I would tell you yes. but link witha religion and its like I came to a screeching halt and bulk at the idea.

so as a convert how did you make the leap

My brother I am having a hard time with the Jinn concept too. Angels are fine, demons are fine, but Jinns I just can't wrap my mind around.

Greetings again senekerk.

It was not a leap for me. Jinn are simply another class of beings.

I have a question for you: You believe in an unseen God who was able to Create the Universe and all life, and you believe in unseen beings who interact with man and carry messeges from God and may offer some protection from time to time that you call angles, but unseen beings that interact with man called Jinn are difficult to believe?

:)

It was not a jump for me.

What is there about Jinn that is hard to accept that is not within the realm of angels?

As Salaam,

In Genesis , Chapter 6 it reads: "

When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they married any of them they chose."

there has always been a debate about who were the sons of God were. In a commentary it states " The phrase sons of God has been intrepreted to mean either angels or human beings.

Jinns could be an explaination to this passage

My problem has more to do with acceptance then with belief.  My ego tells me that God made me ( human beings) and we are special.  If I admitt, give into, accept Jinns, then I also have to accept that I am not as special to God as I thought.  ( this is probably faulty thinking) I have to surrender that Allah is God and can  create whatever he wants.  I have to be willing...... again I have to surrender to what ever Allah does and my selfish and self-centered thinking bulks at this

Angels don't marry do they??
