There is some American Islam leader I saw in a video who says that pianos are not allowed in Islam. I assume this is a very strict view and that most Muslims are free to enjoy the piano. Does anyone know who this leader is that I saw?

Yusuf Islam (aka pop star Cat Stevens) said that he didn't play guitar for many years after becoming a Muslim because he was told that it (or music generally) was haram. But then he realised that other views said that music is ok.
