Hello out there.

I have a question for all the Muslims out there.  I am a Christian.  My brother converted to Islam and married an Islamic women.  They have a daughter together.  Tell me, what level of respect a son owes his father in Islam.  It seems to me that he just converted to spite his family.  Also, no offence intended, how do you expect me to love and respect your "gentle" religion when we all have to live in fear of Islamic fundamentalism.  As a 40 year old American male, I can't hardly go anywhere alone because people are so suspicious because of 9/11. I would really like input.  Life is so miserable now because of the terrorists attacks.

a 40 years old american male and u can't go anywhere alone........chicken! wok wok wok

I sincerlly suggest that you ask your brother the question directly, I don't feel like talking behind your muslim brother's back... please don't drink and drive.....no offence intended..you don't wanna be a 40 years old american male without a driver licence .

..and since life is so miserable now because of the terrorists attacks! allow me to cheer you up with this joke: A sunday school teacher was giving her class the assignment for the next week.
"Next Sunday," she said, "we are going to talk about liars, and in preparation for our lesson I want you all to read the Seventeenth Chapter of Mark."

The following week, at the beginning of the class meeting, the teacher said, "Now then, all of you who have prepared for the lesson by reading the Seventeenth Chapter of Mark, please step to the front of the room."

About half the class rose and came forward.

"The rest of you may leave," said the teacher, "these students are the ones I want to talk to. There is no Seventeenth Chapter in the Book of Mark."

peace - rudy

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

Masha allah to your brother I doubt he is doing it to spite your family if anything you should be happy for him and follow his foot steps, it sounds like ur angry with ur brother y? I was wondering since u have to live in fear of Islamic fundamentalism are you living in fear of the other ppl in America.

Are you familair with

Timothy McVeigh McVeigh's ex-Army buddy, Terry Nichols and are you not suspicious of ppl like them.

Children that take Guns to school I mean every1 in America carries a gun arent you in fear of them drive by shootings and all.

Der r thousands of ppl in America you should live in fear of if I was u  I wouldnt walk out the door!!!!

OR

You could live in fear of ur sins and judgement day and what answer u will give to  Allah and watch all other fears vanish.

 to Rudy!!!

special people who can touch our lives,
Are like precious jewels amongst life's treasures.
They shine on us and leave a lasting impression;
An unique mark on our heart;
A gift without measures.

As-Salaam Alaikum to everyone,

You shouldn't live in fear of Islamic fundamentalist or try to blame the whole muslim community for what a few did.  You will find extremist in every religion.  For example the Klu Klux Klan is a white-racist so-called Christian groups.  The praise Jesus on Sunday but at the same time believe that is it ok to lynch a black man or women on a Monday.  So my question is if a white man/women kills a black man/woman due his race or vice/versa does the black community or vice/versa have the right to terrorize every white person(vice/versa) that they see?  I am not trying to make this a racial issue, and I am just trying to make a point.

Bismillah,

Steve, you should study Islaam to understand your brother better.  You would have something to talk about with him.  You could be a better uncle to your nephew.

The dangers of life surround us.  We must be brave or cower in the corner helpless and frightened.

Al-Hamdulillah (From a Married Muslimah) La Howla Wa La Quwata Illa BiLLah - There is no Effort or Power except with Allah's Will.

Fearing other then Allah makes people real confused, especially when they think islam is about fitting in a certain group and taking over their ways instead of fearing Allah alone and hoping for His mercy and then walk.....His guidance is in the koran, and all you need is fear for Hem and hope for His mercy to understand what He put in it for you, He knows your psychy the best and with Him are the cures for your heart. Iqra(read) and when you do this, congratiolations, you have practiced the first sunnah of our prophet, the first word sent down to Him by Allah, "Iqra".

Skygazer, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Steve, you have no reason to fear Islam or Muslims.   Try spending more time with your brother.  The more he learns the more he'll be able to teach you/share with you.   Then you'll find that many of your fears are due to propaganda.   In sha allah, you'll come to love the religion as your brother

Instead of calling your sister-in-law an "islamic woman" another term you could use is "muslim woman" or "muslima"  There, now you've learned your first Arabic word

Peace
