There is a God...maybe

There maybe a God, but not a female one, a poll has found. The online US survey found just 1 per cent of those polled thought God was female. Thirty six per cent of respondents said God is male, 37 per cent said neither male nor female and 10 per cent said "both male and female". The survey conducted by Harris Poll showed 42 per cent of adults were not "absolutely certain" there is a God, compared with 34 per cent who felt that way when asked the same question three years ago. On whether God has a human form, 41 per cent thought of God as "a spirit or power that can take on human form but is not inherently human".

Greetings

Gender is an attribute of humans and animals.  It seems absurd to suggest that God might have a gender.  However, as most societies have been and continue to be male-dominated it doesn't surprise me that many people still think of the supreme being as male.   I'd be interested to see the results of a similar survey in a predominantly muslim country.  I can think of some countries where even asking that question might get people into a lot of trouble...

Gender should not be assigned to God Almighty Allah.

Can I remind people that this is the interfaith section.

Some people asign gender to God, some don't, some asign both genders, some don't know and some don't believe in God, and some believe in god and some believe God is energy, some believe God is spirit, or whatever they believe.

As this is the interfaith section, this is in the right place.

If people are going to be offended and don't like something what is the point of having interfaith and learning and seeing about others.

Now, let's not get into what is and what isn't, create another thread if you wish, let's not derail anymore
